 Meredith A. Howard, M.A. completed her Masters of Arts in Community Counseling from Denver Seminary in December 2008 along with a year long internship with New Beginnings Psychological Resources, P.C. Meredith received her B.S. in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin. Meredith has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and families in child care, educational, therapeutic, and church ministry settings. Through her counseling experience at a crisis pregnancy center, Meredith learned the value of the community context in counseling. Counseling focuses on the interaction of individual, family, and community influences that impact the person's style of life.
It is my belief that suffering and struggle is an inherent human experience that can deepen our understanding of our need for God's Love. Though human struggle is often linked with ineffective attempts to cope with pain, it can also motivate growth and healthy change in the individual. My passion is to walk alongside individuals, couples, and families as they work through their personal experiences of pain on the path to holistic healing.
God offers the gift of freedom and healing to those who recognize His power to do so. God's Son, Jesus Christ, modeled the power of loving, authentic, and trust-based relationships. Change occurs in the safety of this kind of relationship. As a counselor, it is my passion to build up these relationships with each person and to challenge self-awareness and a commitment to growth. Through these relationships, we can discover the abundant life that God desires for us all. John 10:10.
